Lenze 472 E1 – 470 DC drive 4 kW, 200/380 V, 50/60 Hz
Lenze 472_E1 – 472 E1 Speed Controller from the LENZE - 470 Series range. Status: discontinued by the manufacturer, no longer available new. Van Haelen supplies it refurbished or new in sealed factory packaging, with a 24-month warranty.
The Lenze 472 E1 is the 470 series DC drive with 4 kW and mains voltage 200/380 V at 50/60 Hz. The drive controls the speed of a DC motor. The Lenze 470 series consists of controllers for DC motors; an identical type replaces a defective controller without changing the machine. Lenze has discontinued the type; no successor is specified. When replacing, switch off the mains, mount the controller in the same place, connect the mains, armature, field and control cables to the same terminals, take over the settings of the old controller and after switching on check the operation.

Faults and fixes 472_E1
Problems with 472_E1: overcurrent, overvoltage or overtemperature
On frequency converters and servo amplifiers three fault groups are the most common. Overcurrent: short circuit or earth fault in motor or cable, too short a ramp or wrong motor data; if the fault returns with no motor, the output stage is defective. DC-link overvoltage: decelerating too fast without a braking resistor. Overtemperature: a clogged heat sink or a fan that no longer turns. Always note the fault code and the moment.
What do I check when replacing a 472_E1?
Keep the parameter set of the old unit; it makes setting up the replacement quick. Check rating, supply voltage, frame and option boards, and whether the firmware version matches the parameter set. After long storage the DC-link capacitors should be reformed.
Fault not fixed: replace, exchange or repair the 472_E1?
Replacing from stock is the fastest route when a machine is down. Van Haelen supplies the 472_E1 refurbished (tested, with a test report per serial number) or new in factory packaging, with a 24-month warranty. The current lead time is shown with the condition on this page. Prefer an exchange: you get a refurbished unit straight away and return the faulty one within 14 days. Repairing your own unit is also possible: diagnosis, then a fixed price.
What information should I send for a quick diagnosis?
A photo of the rating plate (order number, product version, firmware), the exact fault code or LED state, when the fault occurs (at power-up, on enable, under load) and what you have already tried. For PLCs an export of the diagnostic buffer, for drives the parameter set. With that we can usually say the same day whether replacing, exchanging or repairing is best.
