The Siemens 6SL3040-1LA01-0AA0 is the SINAMICS S120 Control Unit CU310-2 PN with PROFINET interface, supplied without CompactFlash card. The CU310-2 PN is the control unit for one axis in the S120 range: it plugs directly onto a Power Module in blocksize design or couples to a Motor Module via DRIVE-CLiQ, and communicates with the higher-level controller via PROFINET; the supply is 24 V DC at about 0.35 A. Problems with 6SL3040-1LA01-0AA0: F30001, F30002 or F30003
On SINAMICS the F30xxx messages are faults of the power unit. F30001 is overcurrent (short circuit or earth fault in motor or cable, too short an acceleration ramp, wrong motor data), F30002 DC-link overvoltage (too short a deceleration ramp without braking resistor, regenerative operation), F30003 undervoltage (mains gone or sagging, precharging failed). If F30001 returns with the motor disconnected, the power unit itself is defective.
6SL3040-1LA01-0AA0: F30004, F30005 or A05000, the drive runs hot
F30004 is heat sink overtemperature, F30005 thermal overload (I²t) of the power unit, A05000 the warning that precedes it. Clean the heat sink and the fan, check the airflow and cabinet temperature and whether the load matches the rating. A fan that no longer reaches speed is the most common cause on older units.
