Problems with 6SL3243-0BB30-1PA1: F30001, F30002 or F30003
On SINAMICS the F30xxx messages are faults of the power unit. F30001 is overcurrent (short circuit or earth fault in motor or cable, too short an acceleration ramp, wrong motor data), F30002 DC-link overvoltage (too short a deceleration ramp without braking resistor, regenerative operation), F30003 undervoltage (mains gone or sagging, precharging failed). If F30001 returns with the motor disconnected, the power unit itself is defective.
6SL3243-0BB30-1PA1: F30004, F30005 or A05000, the drive runs hot
F30004 is heat sink overtemperature, F30005 thermal overload (I²t) of the power unit, A05000 the warning that precedes it. Clean the heat sink and the fan, check the airflow and cabinet temperature and whether the load matches the rating. A fan that no longer reaches speed is the most common cause on older units.
6SL3243-0BB30-1PA1: F30021 earth fault or F07900 motor blocked
F30021 reports an earth fault on the motor side: measure the insulation of motor and motor cable (megger) before suspecting the drive. F07900 means the motor does not turn while torque is demanded: mechanical blockage, brake not released or wrong motor data. Neither fault is often caused by the drive itself.
What do I check when replacing a 6SL3243-0BB30-1PA1?
On SINAMICS G120 the control unit and the Power Module are replaced separately: a power unit fault only needs a new Power Module, the parameters stay on the control unit. Keep the parameter set on the memory card or in STARTER/Startdrive. Mind rating, frame size, voltage and firmware version, and whether a braking resistor or filter comes along.
Fault not fixed: replace, exchange or repair the 6SL3243-0BB30-1PA1?
Replacing from stock is the fastest route when a machine is down. Van Haelen supplies the 6SL3243-0BB30-1PA1 refurbished: tested to this family's test protocol, with a test report per serial number, with a 24-month warranty. The current lead time is shown with the condition on this page. Prefer an exchange: you get a refurbished unit straight away and return the faulty one within 14 days. Repairing your own unit is also possible: diagnosis, then a fixed price.
What information should I send for a quick diagnosis?
A photo of the rating plate (order number, product version, firmware), the exact fault code or LED state, when the fault occurs (at power-up, on enable, under load) and what you have already tried. For PLCs an export of the diagnostic buffer, for drives the parameter set. With that we can usually say the same day whether replacing, exchanging or repairing is best.
