The Siemens 6SN1123-1AA00-0EA1 is the SIMODRIVE 611 power module for 1 axis with 160 A and internal cooling. The module feeds one large servo or main spindle motor from the DC link of the 611 group and is meant for motors with a rated current of 80 A (1FT5), 56 A (1FT6), 60 A (1PH) or 60 A for induction motors; the matching control board plugs in separately. Dimensions 15.2 x 48.3 x 30.5 cm. This is version 0EA1, the successor of the 6SN1123-1AA00-0EA0. Siemens lists the type as a spare part and discontinued it on 30 September 2015; the stated successor is the 6SN1123-1AA00-0EA2. When replacing, move the control board from the old module into the same slot, reconnect the DC link busbars and the equipment bus and check the version in the machine data of the SINUMERIK; motor and encoder cables stay unchanged.

Where do I find the manual of the 6SN1123-1AA00-0EA1?
From the manufacturer, free of charge: SIMODRIVE 611 universal SIMODRIVE 611 universal E, Control Components for Closed–Loop Speed Control and Positioning; SIMODRIVE 611 digital Drive Converters (link below). They contain the wiring diagram, LED meanings and the technical data. With every refurbished unit we supply the test report per serial number.

Problems with 6SN1123-1AA00-0EA1: red LED on the I/R module, no DC-link voltage
On SIMODRIVE 611 the infeed/regenerative module (I/R, UI) builds up the 600 V DC link. A red LED on that module means a fault: mains or a phase missing, the enables on terminals 63 (pulse enable), 64 (controller enable) and 48 (line contactor) absent, or the module itself defective. Check mains and enables first; without the DC link every axis module reports a fault.
6SN1123-1AA00-0EA1: alarm 300xxx on the SINUMERIK or fault number on the 611U display
The 300xxx alarms of the 840D/810D belong to the 611D drive and name the axis and the cause (encoder, current, temperature, enable). On the 611U the fault number is on the drive's display. Note alarm, axis and the moment (at power-up, on enable, under load): that is what separates a cable or encoder fault from a defective module.
What do I check when replacing a 6SN1123-1AA00-0EA1?
On 611 modules the full order number counts: current, number of axes and the control board (611A, 611D, 611U) must be identical. Carry over the control board on 611D and the parameter set on 611U. Check the DC-link bars and the device-bus ribbon cable; a poor bus connection gives the same alarms as a defective module.
Fault not fixed: replace, exchange or repair the 6SN1123-1AA00-0EA1?
Replacing from stock is the fastest route when a machine is down. Van Haelen supplies the 6SN1123-1AA00-0EA1 refurbished (tested, with a test report per serial number) or new in factory packaging, with a 24-month warranty. The current lead time is shown with the condition on this page. Prefer an exchange: you get a refurbished unit straight away and return the faulty one within 14 days. Repairing your own unit is also possible: diagnosis, then a fixed price.
What information should I send for a quick diagnosis?
A photo of the rating plate (order number, product version, firmware), the exact fault code or LED state, when the fault occurs (at power-up, on enable, under load) and what you have already tried. For PLCs an export of the diagnostic buffer, for drives the parameter set. With that we can usually say the same day whether replacing, exchanging or repairing is best.
